News & Notes: Electric Auto Grants Only a Start

The grants for electric vehicle development announced yesterday in Wakarusa by President Barack Obama are only a fraction of what’s needed to make the U.S. competitive in the field.

PepsiCo will spend $7.8 billion to buy its two biggest bottlers, including PepsiAmerica, which operates three bottling plants in Indiana.

The Duneland School Board has approved a $5.9 million bond issue to fund an addition to Liberty Elementary.

Jasper County is tweaking ambulance service boundaries.
